James Herbert Dower (1773-1850)  was one of the first permanent settlers in Conche, a community on  the northeast coast of Newfoundland.

Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You was the philosophy by which James lived his life and encouraged others to live theirs. This is his story as told by his great great grandson.
